About Family Promise of Greater Helena
Family Promise is a non-profit that provides transitional shelter to families with children. Their Mission Statement: Helping children and their families overcoming homelessness.
Lewis and Clark County and the Greater Helena area.
Project / Needs
Family Promise provides shelter and meals to families experiencing an episode of homelessness. We also care for the needs of infants by supplying diapers and clothing, as well as school supplies to children attending school. Students are encouraged to take advantage of the study area in the day center. An employment center is available where computers, a printer, telephone, fax, stamps, and envelopes are available for parents searching for a job. We furnish a personal and family financial training course to adult guests in the program, entitled: “New Beginnings”. Family Promise facilitates ongoing support in the form of “family mentoring” to program graduates for one year, once they have found employment and moved into an affordable home.
How will the funds be used
All proceeds support families in our shelter in their efforts to become independent. Funds will be used for shelter, meals, and daily needs, i.e., diapers for infants. Refer to the section “Current Projects/Needs” for additional applications of funds raised.
