About Girls Thrive
We are Girls Thrive (GT)! We are a Helena, Montana-based, volunteer-operated, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that is dedicated to preparing girls for brighter and stronger futures through mountain biking, running and an inspirational educational curriculum. GT participants will not only learn essential mountain biking and running skills, but also gain self-confidence, awareness, and fitness.
Through the educational curriculum, girls will learn about a variety of topics such as positive body image, self-empowerment, teamwork, nutrition, and goal-setting. Furthermore, girls will have the opportunity to learn from expert guest speakers and instructors. Experts will range from Certified Yoga Teachers to Registered Dietitians!
GT does not place limits on the service area. Previous GT participants have come from a variety of areas including: Helena, the Helena Valley, Montana City, and East Helena. In fact, one spring participant came from Bozeman!
Project / Needs
GT needs to raise money for scholarships and necessary safety equipment for participation in outdoor sporting activities: bikes, helmets, running shoes, and other gear for those who can’t afford it.
Girls Thrive continues to fund raise through letters to supporters, grants, social media, and other community charity nights.
How will the funds be used
Funds from Lewis and Clark Taproom Ales for Charity Night will purchase necessary safety equipment for participation in outdoor sporting activities: bikes, helmets, running shoes, and other gear for those who can’t afford it. Funds will also be used to repair and maintain bikes.
