About Kay McKenna Youth Foundation

For 21 years KMYF has been raising funds to pay the City Of Helena to conduct a free summer recreation program for youth ages 6-13 at three city parks.

Areas Served

Helena area youth ages 6-13

Impact

Children whose parents, perhaps, cannot afford to pay for summer camp have an opportunity to engage in free supervised activities while also receiving breakfast and lunch.

Project / Needs

As the numbers of children participating continue to rise each summer, the City has to hire more staff and more material for play, arts and crafts, field trips, etc.  Therefore, the annual bill from the City to KMYF continues to increase.

Other Fundraising

KMYF participated in the recent Helena Gives campaign.  We wrote letters to many Helena businesses seeking donations.  We have also pursued grants from local and other in state charitable foundations. Of course we participate in community weekly days at the Blackfoot and Ten Mile Creek brewery.

How will the funds be used

Funds received will all be used to pay the City of Helena to continue the Kay’s Kids summer program.
